Orange Scented Drinking Chocolate

Ingredients
Zest of 2 oranges
1 c. heavy cream
3 c. whole milk
6 oz. 70% dark chocolate, chopped
½ tsp. salt
½ c. sugar (or less for a less sweet, more dark chocolate flavor)
2 butter or shortbread cookies
1 orange cut into 8 segments with the peel on
Directions
Soak orange zest in the heavy cream and milk mixed together overnight. Strain out the zest the next day. Heat the milk until hot but not boiling. Add the chopped chocolate, salt and sugar. Whisk vigorously until all the chocolate has melted. Cool the finished drinking chocolate completely and reheat for a thicker chocolate, if desired. Serve in four small teacups or demitasse cups with two orange segments and two butter or shortbread cookies as garnish (see orange poppy seed shortbread recipe).
